Boost antioxidant intake

All fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants that help your body purge free radicals. However, some contain plant compounds that support detoxing specific organs. Even with a clean diet, exposure to toxins is inevitable. Not to mention, winter is a time of year many indulge in sweets and comfort foods. Are detox juices effective for weight loss?

How to differentiate your juice detox menu from your core menu?

Add a disclaimer

Ensure your wall-mounted menu, printed menu, online menu, and detox marketing materials have an asterisk associated with a legal disclaimer. This should advise consumers to consult a physician before detoxing or cleansing and clarify that juice is not a cure or substitute for healthcare. What this disclaimer must entail varies by region.  

Use the 80/20 rule

The 80/20 rule is the concept of creating juice recipes with no less than 80% vegetables and 20% fruits. This keeps sugar low. You may have exceptions to this rule in your core juice menu, but your cleanse menu should stick to 80/20. Some recipes may be 100% vegetables.

Organic only

Health-conscious consumers expect a chemical-free detox. Even if your core juice menu isn’t 100% organic, your detox menu should be. This alone can be the difference between choosing your cleanse over a competitor.

Single juice

Some customers are only looking for as-needed functional juices or only want to replace one meal a day with juice. Even one juice a day as a meal replacement gives the digestive system a break.

3-day or 5-day juice detoxes

Multi-day cleanses are a top choice. To personalize the cleanse, offer protein powder and functional add-ins. Add-ins are an easy upsell to this already high profit-margin menu item. If not an add-in, offer these upsells as a shot on the side.
