5 Refreshing Juice Ideas to Kickstart Your Summer

Recipes
28 abril 2025

Summer is just around the corner, which means it's time to add some new or seasonal recipes to your juice bar menu. Your customers will be enjoying the summer sun and looking for hydrating recovery drinks. Something cold and refreshing to cool them down on a hot day. Or something sweet and indulgent that's still healthy and rich in antioxidants. The summer juices below meet all these requirements!

Why customers crave healthy juice in summer

  • Hydration: Throughout the year, the average person requires about half their body weight in water and other hydrating liquids per day. When it's hot and humid and we're sweating, an additional 4 to 8 ounces of hydrating liquids per hour are required.
  • Electrolytes: When we sweat, we lose not only water but also electrolyte minerals. Electrolytes are essential minerals vital for proper cellular function. Fruits and vegetables help restore electrolyte levels.
  • Immune boost: It may not be cold and flu season, but it's still important to keep immunity high. The more active you are, the more your body needs to recover. Freshly squeezed juice is a way to get the full daily amount of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables.
  • Healthy skin: With more time outdoors, UV exposure increases. Fruits and vegetables are full of skin-healthy antioxidants that can help repair UV damage, including vitamins A, C, and E. Juice does not replace the need for broad-spectrum sunscreen and other UV protections.

Mocktails, tea infusions, lemonade, and juice with coconut water

In addition to expanding your juice menu with summer fruits, consider adding some mocktails and juice-infused drinks to your menu.

Tea infusions

Iced tea can be infused with fresh juice to create a hydrating summer drink. For example, steep 4 peppermint tea bags in a gallon of cold water for at least 2 hours. Mix the cold peppermint tea 50/50 with fresh watermelon juice for a refreshing drink.

Strawberry lemonade

Fresh lemonade is a summer bestseller. You can substitute strawberry juice for peach, mango, raspberry, or cherry juice in the recipe below.

  • Squeeze about 15 lemons and add the juice to a one-gallon pitcher.
  • Add 2/3 cup of honey and fill the pitcher up to the 3/4 gallon line with still or sparkling water.
  • Fill up to the one-gallon line with fresh strawberry juice.
  • Mix and serve cold.

Coconut water infusions

Coconut water is a superior electrolyte alternative to sports drinks. You can serve coconut water alone, but consider mixing it 50/50 with fresh juice. Tropical fruits pair perfectly with coconut water, including pineapple, mango, and papaya, but consider tart fruits like pomegranate. Use about 1/3 juice and 2/3 coconut water.

Elevated mocktails

The non-alcoholic beverage industry is on the rise even for those who are not strictly abstinent. Create elevated signature mocktails that are infused with juice. For example, NA mimosas that are half citrus juice or pomegranate juice and half sparkling water. If you have a bar and a mixologist, let them innovate!
