Types of oranges for juice: discover which one best suits your business

Below, we tell you which are the main varieties and when you can enjoy them to the fullest.

Navel Oranges
They are the most common in the cold months. Sweet, aromatic, and seedless, they are perfect for freshly squeezed juice.
  • Navelina: One of the first to arrive each season (from September). Its flavor is sweet and aromatic, with very juicy and seedless pulp. Ideal for freshly squeezed juice in cafes and bakeries.
  • Navelate: Its slightly thinner skin and intense flavor make it a very versatile variety for automatic juicers. It is harvested between January and March, when the sugar reaches its perfect point.
  • Lane Late: The queen of the late season (January to April). It produces a lot of juice, with low acidity and a very fresh aroma. Ideal for maintaining your natural juice offering throughout the winter.
White Oranges
Balanced, juicy, and with a sensory profile very suitable for large production volumes.
  • Salustiana: One of the most popular varieties for self-service and retail lines. It produces a large amount of juice, with a sweet and rounded flavor. Season from December to March.
  • Valencia Late: The star of the juice industry. It is harvested between March and June, allowing for quality fruit until the beginning of summer. Ideal for centralized production or bottling.
Blood Oranges
Aromatic and visually striking, they add a premium touch to the natural juice menu.
  • Sanguinelli: With an intense reddish color and fruity notes with a hint of acidity. Perfect for creating natural blends and signature juices. Its season runs from January to March.
